Car Racks

Going on vacation? Want to take your bike to Wildwood or the UT Bike Trail? At Wersell's, we have just the thing. Car racks come in all shapes and sizes and will fit virtually any car, truck, or RV.

Car racks come in a variety of styles, including roof racks, hitch racks, and trunk racks.

Trunk Racks

Trunk racks attach, of all places, to the trunk or rear hatch of a vehicle. They have padded bars that generally rest on the rear bumper and trunk lid of the vehicle, and use straps to hold them in place. Trunk racks are secure, inexpensive, and versatile, making them a great choice for someone who will be switching the rack between vehicles, and does not have the option of using a hitch-mounted rack.

Retailing for $114.99, the Saris Guardian 3 is by far our most versatile and popular trunk rack. It carries up to three bicycles, and fits most cars, vans, and SUV's.

Hitch Racks

As their name suggests, hitch-mounted racks attach to the vehicle by means of a trailer hitch receiver. This allows for an exceptionally secure mount without risking damage to the vehicle's finish. Hitch racks are available to fit either 2" or 1 ¼" hitch receivers, and many models fold down to allow access to the rear doors of vans or SUVs.

The Hollywood Boomer 2 bike carrier, retailing for $189.99, is one of our most popular hitch racks, and holds two bicycles. Three and four bike models are also available.

Roof Racks

Roof racks are the ultimate in security and versatility. They attach firmly to the roof of the vehicle and can carry more bikes, and hold them more securely, than either of the other rack types. Additionally, roof racks are extremely versatile. Roof racks can be used to carry not only bicycles, but skis, snowboards, fishing rods, canoes, kayaks, and cargo boxes.

We carry Thule and Saris brand roof racks. Roof racks are made vehicle-specific, and must be ordered to fit your make and model, so stop in or call for more details.
