Canada is leading the way for Halloween hijinx, with costumed racers coming out of the woodwork this past weekend. Cyclocross Magazine contributor Doug Brons (you can see his race photography at StarCrossed and Vanier Park) shared some of his snapshots from the weekend with us, and if the American cyclocrossers are going to come near the craziness of the Canadian’s Halloween getups, they’d better start sewing now! Sylvania Cycling Classic

Wersell’s is pleased to be a supporting sponsor of the Sylvania Cycling Classic sponsored by Yark Subaru, taking place August 7 at Burnham Park in downtown Sylvania.
According to the Ohio Cycling Association, the race will be a criterium event on a technical .7-mile loop which circles the park. The course features right and left turns, a chicane, and a hill climb. The event is expected to draw racers from throughout the midwest and will feature races in all categories and skill levels.
Best of all, Burnham Park is home to Plumber Public Pool, and approximately 30% of the race course is visible from the pool deck. So come on out to enjoy a full day of racing, swimming, and social events.
Racing begins at 8am and continues throughout the entire day.

“Lose the Training Wheels” Returns to Toledo

We’re thrilled to welcome Lose the Training Wheels back to Toledo for another year of helping children with disabilities learn to ride bicycles. This year’s camp will take place from July 25-29 at Tam-O-shanter in Sylvania. It is hosted by the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

The mission of Lose The Training Wheels™ is to teach individuals with disabilities to ride a conventional two wheel bicycle and become lifelong independent riders. This achievement, in turn, creates a gateway of opportunity, helping them gain assurance and self-reliance in many other aspects of their lives.
