- NOT for:
- Any off-road use; people with back or neck problems
Flat-Bar Road Bikes
- Best For:
- Primarily road use; Distance, Speed & Efficiency; More relaxed riding positions; Club & charity rides; fun & exercise
- NOT for:
- Regular off-road use; Serious racing
Specialty Road Bikes
These are specialty bicycles created for specific riding and racing styles such as triathlons, cyclocross, and touring.
Hybrid Bikes
- Best For:
- Everyday road use with some occasional trail riding, general around-town riding, bike trail, fun & exercise
- NOT for:
- Heavy off-road use; racing.
Comfort Bikes
- Best For:
- Combination of paved & unpaved trails, plush, smooth ride over short-to-medium distances
- NOT for:
- Long-distance riding or aggressive trail use.
Mountain Bikes
- Best For:
- Off-road riding on anything from unpaved metropark trails to aggressive riding with rocks, roots, and jumps.
- NOT for:
- Every day use on pavement
Beach Cruisers
- Best For:
- Park trails and neighborhood riding, short cruises around town; park trails; smooth, comfortable, upright ride; retro styling.
- NOT for:
- Long distances or rough trails.
Townies
- Best For:
- Combination of paved & unpaved trails; plush, smooth ride over short-to-medium distances
- NOT for:
- Speed riding or aggressive trail use.
Kids Bikes
- For:
- Kids ages 4-12
- NOT for:
- Adults!
